Package Classification and Calculation System

This document describes the mathematical formulas for calculating package sizes and classifying them into categories based on their dimensions relative to a standard box.

Reference Parameters

Standard Box

  • Dimensions: 60cm × 40cm × 40cm
  • Volume: 70 liters
  • Function: Reference for all size classifications

Package Data

  • Width: in centimeters
  • Length: in centimeters
  • Height: in centimeters
  • Weight: in grams
  • Volume: in liters
  • Item Quantity: integer number

Calculation Formulas

1. Volume Calculation

Volume (cm³) = Width × Length × Height
Volume (L) = Volume (cm³) ÷ 1000

2. Unit Conversion

1 Liter = 1000 cm³
1 cm³ = 0.001 Liters

Package Classification Logic

Classification Criteria

The system evaluates two fitting conditions against the standard box:

  1. Loose Fit: All package dimensions are smaller than the standard box
Width < 40cm AND Length < 60cm AND Height < 40cm
  1. Tight Fit: All package dimensions are smaller or equal to the standard box
    Width ≤ 40cm AND Length ≤ 60cm AND Height ≤ 40cm

Classification Categories

Category Condition Description
PARCEL Loose Fit = True Small package, fits easily
OUTOFFORMAT Tight Fit = False Large package, exceeds dimensions
BOX Intermediate Cases Medium package, fits tightly
